The Conversation
The Conversation
2019

The Conversation is a 12:30 minute video that places an intimate conversation between friends in the context of a forest, and in particular the alternate spaces and time scales of the miniature worlds of moss. As mosses provided necessary oxygen for the development of mammals, they also absorb all their water and nutrients from the atmosphere and thus have a unique capacity to act as bioindicators of shifts in atmospheric composition. Inviting viewers to slow down, The Conversation explores our most intimate and dependent relationship with this small organism underfoot, and considers alternate ways to envision our relationship to time.
