Prompts for Walking, vinyl wall text

Walking allows a human-scale interaction with the environment; unfolding at the pace of three miles an hour, it allows us to slow down and perceive more. Prompts for Walking are poetic scores that provide opportunities for individual experiences – prompting site-specific engagement and reflection. Each prompt invites the participant to look down, ahead, or up, respectively, considering what we find beneath our feet, the uncertainty of the future, histories we trail behind us, and guidance from the sky. In the spirit of Yoko Ono’s Grapefruit, or the Fluxus scores of George Brecht, the works are simple, yet invite deeper reflection and participation.
