Wanderer Theory of Stars
Wanderer Theory of Stars takes the shape of a series of five short audio works dispersed through the forest that make connections between the earth and sky by looking through the lens of the lichen Cladonia Rangiferina. Drawing on the lichen’s etymology, the series of poetic audio works unfolds a relationship to wandering, to symbiotic ecological relationships between deer and Cladonia Rangiferina, and to the “lost constellation,” Rangifer.
Wanderer Theory of Stars was created for One Less Traveled, an exhibition of sculpture installed at LongWoods Preserve in Cumberland Center, ME. One Less Traveled, curated by Joshua Reiman, is on view from June 22, 2025 – May 15, 2027.
